High River, BC

Crossing the border into Canada we stopped at High River. We stayed there, at George Lane Park,  in 2008. High River was once an agriculture hub and a harness making and rail center. Now it’s famous for its murals, painted on a enormous scale all over town. It also has the best bakery in Alberta….Ross’s in the same building since 1899…..how many loves of

Malcolm has given you a good snyposis of our travels so far so I thought I’d just add some of my thoughts and what impressed me.  I was involved with two committees: Security and the Media and Caravan room with Clyde and Claire.  I wasn’t much help as they are the knowledgable ones.  I went to the Officer’s Training seminars and learned a lot about how other Units work and realized how fabulous our Unit is in all details.  I was greatly disappointed by Malcolm not winning anything for the bulletin board after all his work and concern about it. We were so happy to use I-Chat to talk with our family at home.  It was reassuring to know they were OK and they missed us.  On our way to Great Falls, MT we passsed one of my hometowns, Billings.  It was amazing to see how much it had grown but nice to see the Rimrocks still embrace the area.  When we got to Great Falls and settled in, Iwas doing dishes and thinking, “ It’s not every day I can do dishes and watch cars and trucks coming and going in the Walmart parking lot.  I’ve become most proficient in windshield photography as Malcolm has in rearview mirror photos.

  1. Wow, that is a LOT of bread. And you need to explain what squirrel bread is, please. I hope it is for and not from squirrels. 🙂

Glad you guys are having a good time! This is a great way to keep up with you guys, hope it isn’t too hard to maintain.
